Window-Shopping: Best Foodie Windows in Prague

So, it's here again, fall with all of its gloom, but also glories. One of those, going to a cozy cafe, reading a book, with a warm cup of coffee before a yoga class, is permanently impossible.

We're all once again stuck in quarantine, and our favorite coffee shops and restaurants have to yet also depend on to-go food and drinks from their windows.

But that does not stop us from supporting them, so once all this craziness is over, we can go back there and enjoy a brunch and coffee with our friends on a lazy Sunday morning.

You for sure will be seeing us supporting small businesses a lot these days. And we would like to encourage you to support any place you love as well.

These are some of our favorites that you should try:

Etapa

If YOGAGANG had to choose one favorite coffee shop in Prague, it would definitely be Etapa. A cozy and perfectly designed place in the heart of Karlín, which serves delicious healthy meals and pastries. Usually, this place is packed because they know how to serve a great meal in Etapa. You can always find some plates of delicious, colorful veggies, fresh cheese and eggs, everything vegetarian/vegan, and from local farmers on the menu. There is no wrong choice in Etapa, but our personal favorites are the creamy chocolate porridgetheir new Panzanella salad, and pastries; you can never go wrong with any of those – YG tip carrot cake.

SUN SHOT Superfood Bar

In SunShot, they know what "health is wealth "means. This place is not only for those of you who gravitate more towards a healthy lifestyle. You can get all different breakfast bowls packed with nutrients, salads, açai bowls, and smoothies**. It is also the place to get the best coconut water in Prague, almost the same as in Bali. The service is always really friendly and will gladly help you personalize your meal based on your personal preferences. So, go to SunShot for some perfectly balanced post-workout meal – YG tip tuna bowl & limo açai.

Cafe Savoy

That's the place where you'll probably meet Klara on her Sunday brunch with their best truffle scrambled eggs. You can't decide between omelet, French toast, and granola? Well, why not get all of it in one of their delicious breakfast menus? If we had to choose one cheat meal, it would be their truffle fries; they are to die for. But getting a coffee and croissant for a walk in the beautiful colorful autumn Petřín is also always a great idea!

Coffee room

It seems like in Vinohrady; every way leads to Coffee Room. Small cozy cafe right on Korunní street with real Berlin vibes. And not only Berlin vibes, but also delicious beans from The Barn, that you should definitely try if you ever go there. Their menu is full of good old classics from espresso to batch brew and new trendy drinks like a charcoal latte or now pumpkin spice. And if you are on the hunt for a fantastic avocado toast, Coffee Room is the place to go. You can always choose from a few different avo-toasts, all super delicious as a breakfast or a snack.

Café Jen

A real hidden gem in VršoviceCafé Jen's coffee and cooked goods are very well known in Prague's foodie scene. But what truly special about their window is the delicious breakfast boxes they sell with variations of pastries, sandwiches, cakes, or yogurt parfaits, all super delicious and homemade. Now they even sell groceries - everything from farmers' eggs or butter to granola and chocolate, basically, anything your heart, or in this case stomach, can desire.

Format Coffee

A newbie in Jackie Tran's family of cafes. The format is an entirely different concept. It's a small espresso bar near Letná, and their specialty is, of course, coffee. Filtered or espresso, everything will taste awesome there. Good coffee is also accompanied by baked goods with an Asian spin on them, like typical Czech buchtas with matcha filling (YG tip). Not to mention the cool interior and the super photogenic blue brick wall. YG tip – always ask what's on Filter today.😊

La Forme

Are you looking for Danish vibes and pastries in Prague? Go to La Forme or the coffee shot & bakery with a green door; you have definitely seen it in all Prague Instagrams already. It is still not mainstream, but a really charming place with our favorite Oatly Milk, The Barn beans, and homemade baked goodies! YG tip – vegan vanilla cinnamon rolls, mascarpone & raspberry Danish.

Supporting any of these places or your other favorites is the best way to help them during these lockdown times. And also, a great way to brighten your day with a lovely drink and something sweet.

Don't forget to take care of yourself and move your body with us because it makes life better.

Yours Sincerely😊
