How to leave your comfort zone & enter your growth zone

Life is full of opportunities to step outside the comfort zone, but people are often afraid. These days, there are so many options we can try. What prevents people from getting out of their comfort zone is their mindset. Let's look at some ways in which you can try to leave your comfort zone.

What is a comfort zone:

  • Place where you feel safe and in control.

  • You don't feel anxious or stressed about it.

  • You don't have to do anything new or challenging.

After the comfort zone, there are another three zones that are not easy. 

  1. "Fear zone. "You can be affected by others' opinions; you can find excuses and lack self-confidence.

  2. In the "Learning zone, "you deal with challenges and problems, acquire new skills, and extend your comfort zone.

  3. In the "Growth zone, "the last and the best one, "you find purpose, live dreams, set new goals, and realize aspirations. After a learning period, a new comfort zone is created, expanding one's ability to reach even greater heights. This is what it means to be in the growth zone.

Everybody should remember that moving into the growth zone becomes harder without self-awareness. In reality, moving from the comfort zone to a growth zone may not be linear. 

Benefits of leaving your comfort zone:

🧠Growth mindset – Leaving the comfort zone goes hand-in-hand with developing a growth mindset. While the fixed mindset keeps us trapped by fear of failure, the growth mindset inspires us to learn and take healthy risks, leading to positive outcomes across life domains.

🙏Resilience – Life isn't a predictable thing. A habit of expanding your comfort zone makes you handle change in your life and leads to resilience.

💪You will become a stronger person.

🎨You will be more creative.

😎More confidence.

We have some tips on getting out of your comfort zone. Like everything, it is about small steps. Don't be hard on yourself. 

  • Make a slight change in your daily routine – for example, if you still don't drink a glass of water in the morning before breakfast, you should. Or include in your routine super greens for your good health. It is up to you.

  • Learn something new – You always wanted to try boxing, but are you scared? It's time to get up and do it. It's good to start a new sport with your friend because you have some support from your bestie. There are a lot of things you can try. Learning to play a musical instrument, ride a horse, try Yogagang classes in Prague, etc.🧘‍♀️

  • Physical change or mental change - Physical exercise can boost your mental health. Take time out from news, noise, and electronics by unplugging. Even if you only take a one-hour shut down, the peace you gain is worth the disconnect. If you've ever considered trying therapy, maybe it's time to do it. Because you do it for yourself, and it's again a small step out of the comfort zone.

  • Take workouts to the next level - For someone, it can mean running their first 5 kilometers, but for others, it might be completing a triathlon. Join our YG team in the Wings for Life World run! 🏃‍♀️

  • Start learning a new language.

  • Take a dance lesson. 💃

  • Buy something you would never buy at the grocery store.🍍

  • Try a cold shower little by little.

  • Go to your favorite cafe alone with a book and make time for yourself.☕️

There are so many ways to get out of your comfort zone. Find the right one for you. Yes, it is a hard step, but if you feel stuck, it is time to get up from your bed and do one thing every day that scares you. Remember, great things never come from your comfort zone.
