Meet YG Team - Teri

Hi YogaGang!

We want to thank you all so much for your fantastic participation in the stronger together challenge and for sharing your journey with us!

You all are a real part of the gang and our most favorite yogis!

Now you get a bit of time to calm down, breathe out, and chill after the week of great-done hard work and effort!

Make yourself a cup of good coffee, a little snack, and enjoy this post we are bringing…

The second member we will introduce in our series, meet YG, is an incredibly inspiring, kind, and beautiful, powerful woman. We asked her a few questions that will reveal something you probably didn’t know yet and show her in a new light that you would not see on Instagram…

If you should describe yourself in 3 words…which ones would you go for?

Caring, dreamy, shy

What does YG mean to you?

YG truly changed my life.

I went to my first YG class in 2017 – I didn't care much. I only went because Nike asked me to take some pictures of me in Klara's class since they sponsored it. I have been going to the gym but felt dissatisfied with myself, my body, and my mindset. Sport hasn't been enjoyable for me for a very long time. I only did it to lose weight, or not at all.

I started going to Klara's classes once in a while, until one day, she came to me and said "Hey, I think you should come to Bali with us." And I was like – hmm, that sounds like something I would never do, but really, really want to. So, I did. I called my dad the same day to ask for an early Christmas present – flight tickets to Bali. And since that day, my life has never been the same.

I feel like YG gave me a purpose in life. It let me reveal my true self because I felt safe with the people around me. NO judgment, NO rules. Just fun, hard work, and love.

How was your first yoga experience?

Horrible! It was with my mum in our local city when I was about eleven, and I remember my head hurting from being upside down all the time. I then went to a yoga class our school provided each week, and I always came just for the Shavasana, haha.

When did you get to the breaking point that has changed the way you see yoga today?

Probably when I came back from the retreat. I had to practice at home by myself, and that was when I first really had to understand and listen to my body. And I started enjoying it so much,

I couldn't go a day without it.

Your best and worst yoga class?

Best?

Each class teaches me something new I didn't know or take into account.

Worst?

Morning yoga at 7:00 AM that my friend brought me to about two years ago and the lady teaching was so mean to me! :D

What sport means to you in only one word or a short sentence?

A healthy addiction.

How do you reach wellbeing- how do you combine sport, food, and self-care?

I think my biggest key to wellbeing is finding balance. It sounds so cliché, yet not many people know how to do it. I know my tipping points - when I feel overwhelmed, I pause. Of course, I love the YG lifestyle of always being 150% - always moving, eating healthy, working hard & still managing to go for a manicure, you know, haha.

But sometimes, always doing something isn't my vibe. I need my time off, with just myself. It's what brings me energy. I then can invest in myself and others. Basically, I combine sport, food & self-care by sometimes merely not doing them all at once. It's okay for me to change focus and do what feels good (if it, of course, still fits my long-term goals and mindset).

Do you have any special favorite ritual that you would like to share?

My favorite special ritual is making coffee/tea, something good to eat, and just zoning out.

I always enjoy spending time alone; it gives me space to recharge.

Could you please share with us some people that you find most inspiring and that have influenced you in any way?

My dad – he always reminds me to work hard but also enjoy life. Whenever I feel lost, he knows the answers. He never forces me to do anything and usually lets me find the answers myself, but he is one of the most influential people in my life.

3 favorite fashion or cosmetics brands?

Kjaer Weis, Aesop, Alo!

Give us 3 of your most favorite spots to eat or have a coffee in Prague.

Etapa, Pastacaffé, Grosseto!

Any food you literally hate?

I can't think of any right now, but I always ask for something special in restaurants as I am picky about combinations!

Dream and nightmare location you should move to?

Dream - so many! Bali, Australia, Berlin...

Nightmare?

That's a bit harsh to say, but probably polluted cities or countries that are politically unsafe.

Perfect vacation and place to go?

Bali with Klára!
