Red Lentil and Coconut Indian Dhal Recipe For YOGAGANG

Hey Yoga Gang!

Today, I’m going to share my favorite recipe that you will fall in love with, making your life way easier these days!

Spring is coming, we are still spending most of the time at home, and all we need is a simple, healthy, tasty, and nutritious go-to meal. Well, this is your lucky day, because that’s exactly what I have for you here!

This will warm your body up, please your soul, and even make you feel like if you were traveling around small villages in Asia- trying their traditional food!

The recipe is super easy to follow, using very accessible ingredients only, delicious, and so light and nutritious so you can practice your ninja moves right afterward!

So, Gang, roll your yoga mats for a while, jump into your apron and let’s get ready for this cooking party session!

Ingredients:

2 tbs Olive Oil

2 Onions

5 cloves of Garlic

Ginger

1 can of Chopped tomatoes

1 can of Coconut milk

Red lentils

1 cup of Water

Jasmine Rice

Spring onion

Spices:

2 Bay Leaves

1 tsp Cumin Seeds

1 tsp Turmeric

1 tsp Chili

1 tsp Garam Masala / Yellow curry

Recipe:

1. Put a big pot on the stove and pour the Olive Oil on the bottom.

2. When it’s heated up, add onion and stir fry until it gets the golden color.

3. Now add Garlic, ginger, and spices and mix for about 2 minutes- be careful; it can get burned really quickly. You get the base for the exceptional taste, and the great smell fills the whole room.

4. Now it’s time to add tomatoes and coconut milk.

5. Mix it all, add red lentils and Water.

6. Reduce the heat and cook until thick and creamy- for about 15 minutes.

7. Taste it and add salt and pepper as needed.

8. Cook the rice on the side in a different pot.

9. Serve all together and top with chopped spring onion!
